(please view in desktop mode)

The Green Biz Summit, organized by the IDEC team at the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, in partnership with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), was a remarkable event. It served as a platform to highlight the urgency of a sustainable future and to discuss the latest innovations in this sector.

The discussions and exchanges at the summit undoubtedly provided valuable insights into the path towards sustainability. It’s inspiring to see such initiatives that not only promote awareness but also drive action towards a more sustainable future. 🌍

Emerging as ambassadors of our esteemed college, our dynamic team of five plunged into the heart of the event. The experience was nothing short of a treasure trove of knowledge. We delved into the realm of sustainability, unearthing insights that promise to shape our future. But the learning didn’t stop there. The event also served as a vibrant platform to explore diverse arenas such as entrepreneurship and teamwork. It was a masterclass in weaving valuable connections, honing our networking skills. This enriching journey has armed us with not just knowledge, but also a broader perspective. We’re excited to carry these learnings with us as we navigate the path ahead.arking insightful discussions and fostering a collective commitment to our planet’s well-being. This experience underscored the power of diverse ideas uniting for a common cause - a sustainable future.

Th event was held at Ashoka Inn Thrissur and it was a wonderful experience

The program was Inaugrated by the principal of GEC thrissur Mr.Satheesh K and Mr.Harris Sir CEO of MSME solutions Pvt.Ltd and Mr.Ajay James IEDC Nodal Officer at GEC and a amzaing vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Lakshmi Neithilath IEDC Students Lead.

Now we begin

At first was a panel disscusion with the founders and CEO of Akri app Mr. Sekar C , Mr. Thajudeen Aboobaker founder at URBAN TRASH & Ms. Amrutha Kishore Sustainable Design Architect & Founder at Elemental.

They shared us their thoughts on the different concers regarding sustainability, also gave us an over view about their area of expertise and their work. Mr. Sekar C and Mr. Thajudeen Aboobaker who both work in the fields of waste management taught us about the process and working of their comapaines and Ms. Amrutha Kishore talked about the various architerural methods implemented to make the construction industry more sustainable.

Afterward we had an interactive class by Ms. Sreelakshmi Sivadas Menon CoY18UAE Delegate spoke passionately about Youth Leadership for Accelerating Agenda 2030, emphasizing the pivotal role of the younger generation in driving sustainability.

Then we had a online intraction with Mr. Prabu Kankatala who is a Energy Engineer. He shared his ideas and thoughts on renewable energy source and about some of the current projects is he working

through this we gained valuable knownledge of renewable energy sources.

Now we had Lunch (this was my favorite part).

After noon we started with another panel discussion by Mr. Muhammed Wazeer founder and CEO of Tree Tag and Mr. Adithya S Sahadevan Climate Justice Activist 🌍 | TEDx Speaker 🗣️ | JCI-India Outstanding Young Person Award 21' Winner 🏆

They presented their thoughts on the current situation and variuos different methods to be sustainable. They also pointed out on some real world scammes run by the big tech companies and advertising themself as green. They recalled upon some thoughts shared by the other guest and shared their opinions.

As the last program was an interactive workshop by Ms. Kavya Sreekanth CEO of Pranna Power.

It gave us a vivid view on how each of us was a burden to the earth and and to minimise our carbon footprint on this earth, to make it more interactive she gave us simple math and asked the crowd to answer. She also shared about one of her recent Projects which helped the disabled kid in remote villages of rajasthan.

I was most inspired by the fact that its better for the earth if we reduce our bathing session which I am trying to follow for the better of earth.

This is a honest opinion from my side- when Ms. Sreekanth was presenting the reponse fromt the audience was very pathetic and shameful the speaker was withdrawing from the crowd. Well it was afternoon and everyone was full after the lunch, this shouldn't be an excuses for the laziness and some students walked out mid workshop, felt like a straight up humiliation.

Over all it was a great experience we got a very good exposure to this indsutry and I am very happy to meet a lot of like minded people and to expand my connections.

A great shout is needed to all the members of the IEDC club at GEC for the relentless effort for the smooth going of this program.

Apologies if I forgot to mention anyone.

Thank you once again to IEDC GEC for giving us a unforgetable and memeroable experience.
